The Beginning of a Big Girl Room Makeover

Even though not a lot of progress  has been made on Oaken’s new room, we have made a few strides in regards to decorating Skylar’s room. Her room was obviously impacted when Oaken moved out, so now it looks like we’ll be giving two rooms makeovers now!

Today you get a glimpse at what Skylar’s room currently looks like and what I hope it will look like soon!

As you can see, there are some obvious changes that need made; like moving Oaken’s name out of the room that he no longer sleeps in!

Here a list of things that I would like to get done:

-paint Skylar’s closet doors
- move “Skylar” down a little bit on the wall
- sew some pillows and bedding with fun patterns to liven up the room
- fill that empty “window” with something
- find new hardware for the night stand
- add cute artwork to the bare wall that currently has “Oaken” affixed to it

And here’s the mood board that I put together to give you idea of what I’m thinking…

Tell me, do you make lists for EVERYTHING, or am I the only one? Do they help you stay organized and focused, or do they drive you a little crazy seeing all the things that have yet to be done?

And what would you put in the “window”?

I thought maybe a mirror, but she’s only 4 and will probably manage to break it.

Then I thought, maybe make a chalkboard, but I really don’t want to encourage her drawing on the “wall” unsupervised.

So, I am fresh out of ideas there. Help me with your creative input!
